The 12 Week Challenge

10 people, 10 businesses under contract, 12 weeks to do it.

Thank You

Thank you to all 609 of you who have subscribed to Kingdom Builders in the last few weeks and have made this journey worth every inch.

We are just getting started and I cannot wait to have you all along for the ride.

Summary:

  • The 12 week challenge involves 10 first-time acquisition entrepreneurs learning the process, finding their acquisition target, and getting the business under contract in 12 weeks time.

  • This challenge is the first of many for the Kingdom Builder community and through it I hope to showcase how anyone is capable of changing their financial trajectory through entrepreneurship.

  • I will be sharing helpful tidbits from the journey and hopefully inspire those in the Kingdom Builders community to take the next step towards financial freedom.

The Challenge

The idea for the 12 week challenge came to me back when I was helping a friend with his first acquisition.

He had heard about what I was doing with small business acquisition and he wanted me to help him on his first deal.

I said, “Sure, no problem. Just need you to fill out these financial docs so that we can get started .”

He seemed excited and enthusiastically agreed to start filling out the paperwork.

A couple days later I asked if he had completed the docs and he said he’d forgotten but he would get it done shortly. I knew he was a busy guy and thought he would get to it eventually.

A few days turned into a few weeks and a few weeks into a month, and we were no further along then when we first started.

I called him up and asked him if he really wanted to do this because it seemed he was not interested. He apologized and said that he really wanted to do it but he needed accountability.

He had other projects going on, including his day job, and always told himself he would do it after work, but never did.

He was not lazy, and he was not a bad guy. Like most of us, he was distracted.

He needed something that would help him be accountable to his goal. He needed a community.

After that conversation, we agreed to weekly check-ups. On those checkups, He knew I would be asking him about the tasks that he needed to do the previous week and he did not want to have to say he didn’t complete the task.

Peer pressure.

It worked. My friend was able to find great businesses for sale, negotiate the purchase price, get it under contract and eventually close on the deal.

All while working a 40+ hour job.

That is how the 12 Week Challenge was birthed.

Targeted education + accountability = Results

Every week, our mighty band of acquisition entrepreneurs is going to meet to learn about the business acquisition process and encourage one another in their journey towards financial freedom.

I will be sharing their progress and their stories with all of you for two reasons:

  1. To motivate those who are sitting on the fence or thinking that they can’t do it for whatever reason.

  2. To hold those in the group accountable. The more people who are following their journey, the more likely they will complete it.
